Expedia, Lufthansa, SAS, Expedia, Lufthansa, Austrian. Next ?
Due to the volcano ash I changed my flight from Dubai on Lufthansa. As the airports in Finland keep closing and opening, I thought there is no idea to travel to Germany or Denmark to just hang around and wait whether I can do rest of the trip and fly over to Finland. More valuable to stay here and try to do some work too.
Today I found out that I would be able to fly out earlier than the re-booking on Lufthansa gave for me. I thought I might double-check that I am refunded if I cancel my current ticket totally. One, pretty simple question, I guess.
So, I called first Expedia which I used for online booking originally. They asked me to call Lufthansa since the change was done by them. Lufthansa’s office in Dubai said that I should call Scandinavian Airlines, who them was more than confused since they don’t have anything to do with the ticket. I called back Expedia, as instructed by SAS people in Denmark. Girl at Expedia was very closed to loose her temper with me and kept saying I need to call Lufthansa. Which I eventually did, and heard that my ticket is issued by Austrian Airlines and should call them. Which I tried for 25+ times getting only the busy line. Travel agency in Pakistan kept trying to catch their office in London with the same results.
Pretty interesting process as none of the airlines or Expedia really didn’t take any responsibility, neither tried to find the refund policies linked to my ticket. The question was not as simple as expected, I guess.
New day tomorrow. Everyone at the Austrian customer service; could you pick up the phone tomorrow if I call you. Or respond to the email I sent you. Thanks.
